What you’ll be doing
Working 30 hours a week (some evenings and 2 – 3 weekends per month) you will have an amazing opportunity in this exciting role to support adopted children and young people in Swansea, Mid and West Wales by supporting and delivering our existing Connected activity groups.
Connected offers adopted children and young people aged 7 – 25 years across Wales monthly activity groups, digital sessions, one to one support and family days to name a few. The group offers a space for children and young people to come together with others who are adopted, to feel safe, be themselves, make connections and have fun.
You will be joining a committed and motivated team and environment that will reward and challenge you and develop your skills and experience further.
You will
•Work closely with the team to deliver and promote all four elements of Connect.
•Support the organisation to provide national events for adopted children and young people.
•Raise awareness by ensuring the young adopted person and their family are aware of accessing adoption support services.
•Process referrals, initial engagement and set measurable outcomes for families.
•Supervise and organise the Child and Youth Support workers.
Who you are.
As a person passionate about making a difference to the lives of adopted children and young people. Having demonstrable skills in supporting children and young people you will,
•Be able to meet the criteria of the role profile in the candidate pack
•Have experience of managing groups for children and young people
•Ideally have sound knowledge of the principles of the UNCRC, with a good in-depth understanding of the needs of adopted or looked after children

We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that celebrates and values diversity. We welcome your application whatever your background or situation. Under-representative groups such as ethnic minorities and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to build a career with us. We don’t want you to ‘fit’ our culture, we want you to enrich it.
If you have a passion for making a difference and share in our vision for adoptive and kinship care families, we would love to hear from you.
