PR & Events Officer (12603) - Fixed Term Contract until September 2026
Cardiff and Vale College
Salary: £12,875 - £13,752 (Based on a full time salary of £32,189 - £34,381 per annum)
An exciting vacancy is available as a PR & Events Officer in the Marketing & Communications department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the City Centre Campus.Responsibilities include:
- Be an active member of the Marketing and Communications team, specifically taking responsibility for the development and delivery of the PR and Events objectives from the ambitious college wide marketing and communications strategy, in line with the College's 3 year rolling strategy
- Contribute positively and productively to a professional, innovative, responsive and effective in-house PR and Events team and service for the College and its subsidiaries
- Work with staff across the College to plan and implement effective PR activities and events to meet college and specific project objectives, enhancing the reputation of the College in local, regional, national and international communities and with key markets and stakeholders.
- To be responsible for coordinating PR events and activities for the College, its subsidiaries and partner organisations including:
- Organising large-scale awards events
- Initiating and co-ordinating corporate events/ business networking events and activities/ launches for new products and developments for PR gain
- Co-ordinating official visits for visiting dignitaries
- Co-ordinate the College presence at non-recruitment exhibitions
- Securing sponsorship from external partners and organisations to financially support events and increase commercial and key partner involvement
- Generate PR content - writing relating copy, developing a range of content to optimise reach for PR and events activities
- Work with staff across the College to support internal communications for staff and students through:
- Coordinating/supporting specific cross college events/activities for staff (eg. All staff briefings, Staff Awards
- Coordinating/supporting specific cross college events/activities for students (eg. Freshers Fayre's, Skills Competitions)
- Generating, copywriting and uploading content onto the staff and student website/ portals/ app
- Proactively seek out opportunities to work with partners and develop links to raise the profile of and opportunities for the College/ its subsidiaries through sponsorship and involvement in networks/ events/ activities
- Monitor the impact of all PR and Events activity, using information captured to effectively analyse and evaluate the return on investment to inform the development of future activity/ spend.
- Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
Please note that this is a Fixed Term Contract until September 2026
