We now have an exciting opportunity for a Communication Support Worker to join the Additional Learning Needs team, based at our Northop Site.

The main purpose of this role is to provide communication support for students on college programmes, who have communication needs.

In your new role you will be required to provide students with communication difficulties or sensory impairments with support in the classroom and during their lunch and break times. You will also provide support on college organised visits within other outreach centres when required. You will need to maintain records detailing support provision for learners and submit these to the Additional Support coordinators at agreed intervals.

The successful candidate will have an awareness of Equality and Diversity legislation, and issues which may arise. You will also need to be aware of safeguarding procedures and the PREVENT programme, undertaking any training as required.

Essential Requirements

Qualified to at least a Grade C or equivalent in GCSE English and Maths

Minimum Level 3 qualification to support BSL sign language

Experience of supporting people with communication difficulties
