Head of Quality

As the Head of Quality, the successful candidate will have the overall responsibility for the effective management of quality across the business, and implementation of quality management processes, to meet award bodies and inspection requirements.

Salary Banding: £50,000- £60,000 dependant on skills and experience
Location: Itec House, Cardiff
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: 35 Hours a week, Monday to Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm

What are the core responsibilities of this role?

• Taking overall responsibility and the strategic lead for quality improvement across all areas of internal and partner delivery.
• Accountable for ensuring quality standards are maintained to the highest standard in line with Estyn, Ofsted, Award Bodies, and funding organisations requirements.
• Responsible for completing Self-Assessments across all areas of the business.
• Responsible for implementing Quality Development Plans/strategies and ensuring processes are measured and monitored effectively.
• Accountable for leading all quality inspections from external agencies, including Estyn, Ofsted, Awarding Bodies, Matrix.
• Responsible for implementing and managing quality assurance strategy and learner journey.
• Accountable for monitoring and reporting to Board and Senior Management on quality trends and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Accountable for overseeing the embedding of the Core Skills strategies into learning.
• Accountable for overseeing quality curriculum development aligned to business and learners needs, measuring the impact and identifying improvement areas.
• Accountable for overseeing learner and employer voice activities, identifying trends, and supporting the implementation of continuous improvement activities.
• Working collaboratively as part of the Senior Management Team contributing to and delivering the strategic objectives of the business
• Responsible for producing high quality reports for Directors and Key Stakeholders on areas of responsibility as required.
• Responsible for coordinating and evaluation quality assurance processes for both internal and partner teams, including teaching and learning observations, reviews, ILP’s.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining quality policies, procedures, and guidance.
• Accountable for maintaining knowledge of changes to quality standards, effectively communicating, and supporting the implementation of changes in partnership with operational teams.
• Accountable for attending and representing Itec at external quality events/networks, effectively cascading information to senior leads and operational teams as required.
• Effective and collaborative working with Senior Operational Managers.
• Direct line management responsibilities. Driving performance, coaching, and developing team to improve overall performance.

What skills and experience are we looking for from potential applicants?

Essential

• Experience of working at Senior level within the Work Based Learning / Skills sector.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of Work Based Learning and standards.
• Understanding of Award body standards.
• Degree level education or equivalent.
• Extensive quality improvement background.
• Experience of managing / leading Estyn inspections.
• IT literate.
• Strategic thinking, acting, and influencing.
• Leadership and Effective team management
• Flexible with travel, with a full, clean driving license.
Desirable
• Understanding and knowledge of Ofsted standards
• Safeguarding & Prevent Knowledge and understanding.
• Matrix Standards
• Fluent in Welsh.

This role is subject to a DBS check. The cost of the DBS check will be met by the company.
