Youth Support Worker (General)

Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Wales
This role will support the delivery of the BGC Wales curriculum amongst member clubs throughout Wales.

JOB SPECIFIC:

To deliver a broad curriculum of activities and informal education to young people that are innovative throughout the club network. The curriculum includes; inter club sports / activity competitions, wellbeing workshops, safer internet sessions, football against racism workshops, coding workshops, Duke of Edinburgh's Award amongst others.

To establish and build relationships with club leaders and young people to increase involvement with the work of BGC Wales.

To promote inclusion for underrepresented groups amongst member clubs and in particular young people who have a visual impairment as part of a small project with RSBC (Royal Society for Blind Children)

To work with a variety of partners to enhance the opportunity for young people to develop. This will include working with partners on the Ofcom project to increase media literacy amongst young people.

Undertake face-to-face youth work with young people aged 11-25.

To develop opportunities for young people to link with other local providers.

To undertake the required admin expected of the project including submitting reports and attendance records.

To promote and support projects/initiatives identified by Boys and Girls Clubs of Wales.

To provide information and support to young people as and when required, whilst identifying other agencies to whom the young person should be referred to for the information and support required.

To provide information and prepare reports for the Chief Executive or the Management Team as required.

To take part in training that is relevant to the role.

To take part in team meetings and regional meetings, and other relevant meetings as a representative of Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales.

Ensure compliance with Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs of Wales’s policies and procedures.

To report without delay any safeguarding concerns to the appropriate safeguarding officer.

As a term of your employment you may be required to undertake such other duties and/or times of work as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the Organisation.

Applicants will need to be EWC registered (or prepared to register) and undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
