Class Teacher (Ysgol Dolafon)
Job description
Full Time Key Stage 2- Class Teacher

Commencing 1 st September 2024

This post is advertised as Fixed Term for one year initially due to changes in the leadership of our school. However, it is envisaged that the post will continue with the opportunity of the position being permanent.

The governors of Ysgol Dôlafon are seeking to appoint an experienced exceptional and inspiring Key Stage 2 class teacher to join the staff of our happy school. We aspire to provide a nurturing, inclusive and enriching environment that encourages a lifelong love of learning.

Our school is in the small town of Llanwrtyd Wells. Our motto is "Un Teulu Mawr" and we are a close-knit two teacher school. Our children are taught in two classes so experience in teaching mixed aged classes would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will become part of the Dôlafon family and work as part of a small but very committed team.

The ability to work collaboratively is essential. The successful candidate must have high expectations of learning and behaviour and also be committed to upholding the school's vision and values. They should also:
  • Be motivated to forge positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider community
  • Be familiar with the pedagogy of the Curriculum for Wales
  • Have empathy for all learners
As part of "Un Teulu Mawr" we would welcome the opportunity to offer you:
  • The support of our experienced Executive Headteacher, dedicated team and supportive Governing Body and community
  • The opportunity to lead an Area of Learning and Experience
  • A spacious well resourced teaching space and school grounds
  • Friendly pupils
  • The opportunity to develop as a teacher at this exciting time of curriculum reform with appropriate training opportunities
You will play an important role in the development of our school and we wish you every success if, after taking the time to read this advertisement, you decide this is the post for you.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all in our care. This position is subject to satisfactory references, enhanced DBS and all other relevant clearances.

Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. The Headteacher Designate will be available to show prospective applicants around the school. Should you wish to visit the school on the applicant open day please telephone the school office to make arrangements: 01591 610 326.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Headteacher Designate Mr Adam Shearman with any questions or for an informal discussion.
