At our Cardigan campus, we offer specialised programs in Construction, Automotive Engineering, Catering & Hospitality, Furniture Design and Making, Computing, and Hair and Beauty. We work with Further Education learners, Work Based Learning apprentices and school link pupils from local schools.

Purpose
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external parties, ensuring appropriate relationships with schools, employers and parents;
- Provide effective operational planning and management to meet College, Directorate and Curriculum strategic objectives;
- Drive learner recruitment across the Curriculum promoting growth and innovation in line with market intelligence and proven need for all FE, WBL, HE, 14-19 and commercial learning;
- Teach a number of hours commensurate with the position of Head of Curriculum;
- Lead the development of Teaching and Learning in the Curriculum, ensuring that it is at the cutting edge of current thinking and technology and leads to creativity and innovation;
- Ensure that the Curriculum in the area is planned effectively, implemented efficiently and meets the needs of the local and national economy;
- Ensure that all College Quality Assurance and Improvement processes that appear in the College Quality Cycle are met within the Curriculum Area, to agreed timescales;
- Ensure that the Curriculum Area strives for the highest possible outcomes and progression rates for learners;
- Ensure the management of all human and physical resources within the area efficiently and effectively, within an agreed budget;
- Assist the Dean in the promotion of the work of the Faculty, ensuring the celebration of learner and staff success is maximised;
- Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements in respect of Health, Safety and the Environment in relation to the area are applied and adhered to, including the Educational Visits Policy;
- Assist the Dean in the establishment of appropriate student discipline standards in line with College policy;
- Contribute to a range of cross college meetings;
- Carry out any other duties as directed by the Principal/Chief Executive commensurate with the grade of the post at the initial place of work or other locations within the College.
Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseEssential Criteria:
- Degree/HND or Equivalent
- Teaching Qualification
- At least three years relevant experience of curriculum management including the introduction and implementation of new initiatives
- At least three years' experience of curriculum development
- Experience of working in partnership with external agencies
- Experience of developing income generating activity in an educational environment
- Excellent communicator with diplomacy and tact
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to lead a geographically dispersed team
- High level of personal integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- An understanding of developments in FE, HE, 14-19 and WBL
- Lead by example, setting high standards of professionalism
- Demonstrate a positive, open and supportive management style
- Value and nurture creativity in others
- Encourage and motivate others to share ownership and responsibility for service
- Challenge and resolve less than satisfactory performance
- Develop good working relationships
