An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Invigilator (Examinations) within the Examinations department at Cardiff and Vale College. This role will be based at the across campuses. There will be occasional requirement to travel to other Cardiff and Vale sites including our Colcot Road site in Barry.
You will need to have sufficient availability during the Summer exam season which is between 12 th May 2024 and 13 th June 2024. Individual agreements can be discussed at interview.
Reporting into the Examinations Team Leader, you will be responsible for providing invigilation support for the department.

The successful applicant will have a sound educational background, good level of IT experience in Microsoft office and demonstrable commensurate experience within an administrative role. The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh would be desirable but not essential.
The successful applicant will be required to work between all sites within the college subject to business requirements.

- Ensuring that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set down by JCQ;
- Setting out examination papers and stationery prior to the examination;
- Assisting candidates prior to the start of examinations by directing them to their seats and advising them about possessions permitted in examination venues
- Offering advice and guidance to unregistered candidates without allocated seats;
- Ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside examination rooms;
- Displaying starting and finishing times for the exams on the boards
- Marking the attendance registers;
- Dealing with any disturbances to the exam;
- Escorting candidates from venues during the examinations as required, and supervising candidates whilst outside examination venues;
- Requirement to work occasional evenings for online exams.
- Setting up PCs and logging into invigilator dashboard for online exams.
- Ensuring that invigilation paperwork including seating plans, attendance registers and incident reports are complete and returned to the Exams Team.
- Admin tasks will form part of this role, e.g. filling envelopes.
- Welsh language skills would be desirable for this role.
