The Governing Body are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Deputy Headteacher to work as part of a highly motivated and experienced team in taking the school forward in the next stage of its development. Attracting pupils from a small village catchment area, our location in Miskin in Mountain Ash, in the ward of Penrhiwceiber. Miskin Primary are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who;
- Has recent experience of significant leadership through Progression Step 1 to Progression Step 3.
- Will be highly visible within the school community, working actively, developing effective and integrated community and school working relationships with staff, governors, parents and the wider community.
- Recognises the importance of strong, positive pupil well-being and promotes the whole school values through nurturing resilience, perseverance, independence, creativity and curiosity.
- Actively promotes and celebrates diversity across the school community.
- Is an exemplary teacher with the highest expectations of themselves and others. Has proven skills to model and develop high quality teaching and learning.
- Has high expectations for the teaching, learning, behaviour and attitudes across the school to ensure appropriate challenges and progress for all learners.
- A commitment to inclusion and an understanding of the issues facing our pupils with SEN
- Be an advocate of children’s rights and the rights respecting ethos.
- Promote and lead professional learning that impacts upon pedagogy, supporting professional growth across our school.
- Leads by example, and has proven experience and success in leading aspects of Curriculum for Wales across the Progression Steps 1-3.
- Has an excellent understanding of the National Mission for Wales, Curriculum and assessment both of and for learning.
- Is a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience, good organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively with the Headteacher in all aspects of the school’s work, particularly within the strategic work in securing school improvement.
