The Governing Body of the Garw Federation (Betws, Blaengarw and Ffaldau Primary Schools) are seeking to appoint a visionary executive headteacher to continue to inspire both staff and children to work to their greatest potential.

The role requires high levels of strategic thinking, great emphasis on coaching, delegating and achieving change through others to enhance our federation. The successful candidate must be a strong leader, with an ability to develop and support this strategic direction, vision and values and priorities of the federated schools.

This position will fundamentally be one that concentrates on the strategy of the three schools to facilitate the best possible advancement of the federation. The executive headteacher will be committed to working in strategic partnership with the governing body, the local community and all stakeholders to provide an environment in which staff and pupils are supported in achieving their full potential. The day-to-day running of the schools will be down to each individual head of school in alignment with the strategic methods outlined and supervised by the executive headteacher.

The successful applicant will be an experienced headteacher with proven leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills. They will have a clear vision to continue the drive for high standards and collaborative working across the schools.

Betws, Blaengarw and Ffaldau Primary schools are located in the Garw Valley, with 485 pupils on roll across the 3 schools.

Applications are invited from experienced headteachers who hold the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
