Following the appointment of the previous headteacher to a full-time post in Christian Ministry, the Governors of St Mark's Church in Wales VA Primary School seek to appoint an outstanding Headteacher to lead our successful, happy, inclusive school family. The role includes a teaching commitment of 50%.

The successful candidate will need to be:

  • Committed to maintaining our Christian ethos, high standards and continuous improvement
  • A highly compassionate person who can demonstrate strong pastoral, interpersonal and communication skills
  • An enthusiastic, inspirational, innovative leader with proven pedagogical and management skills, leading by example in the classroom and beyond
  • Passionate about nurturing the partnerships between pupils, parents, staff, governors and stakeholder groups across the wider community
  • Able to develop and implement a clear vision for the ongoing development of our school as we realise the potential of Curriculum for Wales.

Our school serves the Merlin's Bridge area of Haverfordwest, which has a very strong sense of community. We enjoy close partnerships that enrich pupils' learning experiences to broaden aspirations and unlock our children's full potential. We are forward-looking, collaborative and creative in developing our curriculum to achieve this aim. Our enthusiastic, talented and dedicated team of staff is supported by our excellent, committed Governing Body. In all that we do, we strive to ensure that all pupils receive the best possible start in life, and develop through the four purposes.

Candidates must hold the National Professional Headteacher Qualification [NPQH], unless appointed as Headteacher before 2005.
