The Governing Body of the Eveswell & Somerton Primary School Partnership are seeking to appoint an exceptional and visionary Deputy Headteacher to join our dedicated leadership team across the federation. Following our excellent Estyn Inspection in February 2024, the Governing Body is seeking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic and outstanding professional, to assist the newly appointed Executive Headteacher in leading this highly successful school.
This is currently a non-teaching post and a unique career development opportunity where the Deputy Headteacher will take responsibility for the day to day running of the school under the direction of the Executive Headteacher. We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher who shares our commitment to providing the best opportunities for every child to succeed.

The Governing Body are committed to appointing a Deputy Headteacher who:
- Is an excellent role model and has a proven ability at leading, motivating and supporting a team;
- Will be excited by the challenge to make a difference and narrow the deprivation gap, working with children from socially, economically deprived backgrounds;
- Leading and managing staff, developing and implementing school policies, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning;
- Experience in identifying, reporting and responding to safeguarding concerns as well as overseeing the school's safeguarding policies and procedures;
- Ensures that the well-being of all children is central to all that they do and build a relationship of mutual respect with the pupils, parents, staff, wider community and the Governing Body;
- Understands how to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with additional needs or those who are multilingual;
- Own a strong professional learning record and articulate aspirations for headship, being able to deputise for the headteacher on a regular basis;
- Will work in partnership with the Headteacher to further develop cohesive and effective leadership and management;
- Will promote and lead professional learning that impacts upon pedagogy, supporting professional growth;
- Demonstrates an understanding of the current landscape of education reform in Wales;
- Has highly effective organisational skills;
- Will be happy and enthusiastic to commit to the wider life of the school.
