The Governing Body wishes to appoint a Teacher to work at

Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School to complement our existing team .

We are looking for a part time teacher, 3 days a week, to teach in our year 5/ 6 class.

Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School, is situated in Mountain Ash, serving the parishes of Mary Immaculate and St Thomas, Abercynon. We currently have 120 pupils on roll, split across 4 classes, with a full-time nursery. The school has strong links with the community, parish and a supportive, pro-active Governing Body.

The Headteacher, Governing Body, staff and pupils are seeking to appoint an innovative, motivated, and excellent practitioner who is ready to take up the challenge and become an integral part of our community.

At Our Lady’s we place the wellbeing of our pupils and staff at the very centre of all that we do. We are an enthusiastic, committed and supportive team who always aim to follow our school motto,

The successful candidate will need to:
  • Be able to support and develop the Catholic identity of Our Lady’s Primary School.
  • Be an excellent classroom teacher with high expectations of children's achievements, who is fully committed to raising standards in learning.
  • Have an excellent understanding of Curriculum for Wales, skills development and pedagogy and can use this well to inform teaching.
  • Be able to play an active role in all aspects of school life, including clubs and taking responsibility for curriculum areas.
  • Be flexible, well organised and a highly motivated professional, able to communicate effectively with parents, agencies and the wider community and work collaboratively as part of a highly effective team.
  • Be able to promote positive behaviour management, in a nurturing environment where all pupils can achieve.
