The Multilingual Learning and Support Service (formally known as the Minority Ethnic Achievement Service) is seeking confident and motivated individuals who will support multilingual learners in schools throughout Carmarthenshire.
We are seeking to appoint 4 Multilingual Support Officers to work as part of the MLSS Team, contributing to the planning, delivery and evaluation of the learning of pupils for whom English/Welsh is an Additional Language. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the class/subject teaches/MLSS team to support individuals and groups of pupils to enable access to learning. Whilst it is not essential that candidates are fluent in other languages, this will be an advantage.
The ideal candidates will:
- Be able to support all age groups (3-19)
- Be able to support individual or small groups of pupils on a one-to-one basis
- Have classroom experience
- Have an awareness of EAL/WAL pedagogy
- Be able to act as a good link between parents and teachers
- Have strong communication and time management skills
- Be confident using ICT
- Be able to travel
