The Governors of Litchard Primary School are looking to appoint a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Specialist Support Officer to join our new Foundation Learning ASD class, supporting pupils aged 5–7 (Reception to Year 2). This is a fixed-term position for one year in the first instance.
We are seeking someone who:
Has a genuine passion for supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Brings experience of working in specialist or inclusive educational settings
Demonstrates a nurturing, patient, and flexible approach to learning support
Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to the wider school community
Is committed to helping every pupil thrive in a calm, structured, and supportive environment
