TA Level 3 (Cover Supervisor) - Fixed term until 20th July 2026

35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Llanmartin Primary School is a small rural school on the outskirts on Newport. As a school we are proud of our school values of Respect, Inspire and Nurture and have a strong collective goal that 'Together we can Achieve'.

The pupils, staff and Governors are looking for an inspirational, caring, reliable and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our school team.

This is a full-time, fixed term post required as soon as possible pending pre-employment and safeguarding checks.

We are looking for somebody who:

• can support and assist the teacher in the classroom with a range of tasks, working as a team and be a positive role-model to all children
• has experience of supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or within small groups to help them make good progress towards their individual targets
• is self-motivated and flexible
• has good communication skills and excellent organisation
• has the willingness to contribute to our curriculum development and the wider life of the school through their own professional learning and development
• has the ability and confidence to oversee classes in the absence of the class teacher

The appointment process will involve a story telling session/activity with pupils that should last for fifteen minutes. This will be observed by Mrs Curtis, the Headteacher and Mrs McCormick, the Deputy Headteacher. Following which, successful candidates will be invited to attend the second part of the process which will involve an interview with the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, a member of the Senior Leadership Team and a member of the Governing Body.

The Governing Body and Local Authority are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
