Role Title: Assistant Finance Business Partner
Location: Northop
Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time
Salary: £23,598 - £25,374
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join our busy Finance team based at our Northop site. As the Assistant Finance Business Partner you will be assisting with the control of the financial systems, preparations of financial and management accounts and analysis of financial and management accounting information within the Finance function to deliver a Business Partnering service across all areas of the College.
● Assist with the preparation of timely monthly management accounts and forecasts.
● To develop appropriate budgetary control systems and techniques within the College, providing appropriate support to budget holders across the College
● Monitor, prepare and publish monthly budget reports and commitment information
● Work closely with Budget Holders to analyse variances and explore potential problems and opportunities making appropriate recommendations and advising on the financial impact to the College.
● Support the Finance Business Partner in implementing a Business Partnering service across all areas of the College
● Assist with the monthly monitoring and forecasting of hourly paid staffing budgets.
● Collate monthly Devolved Budget monitoring information from Managers and summarise.
● Assist with the preparation of year-end final accounts in accordance with all relevant guidance and statutory requirements for the College
● Attend meetings with colleagues, staff and managers to discuss devolved budgets and forecasts.
● To complete financial and statistical returns for management and external reporting requirements as required.
● To monitor financial records to ensure compliance with financial regulations and procedures
● Prepare and reconcile monthly bank reconciliations as required
● To assist with the development of financial procedures and systems.
● Ensure the accuracy of transaction data and the timely processing of recharges to appropriate cost centres.
● To undertake general office administrative duties in support of the Finance function.
● To provide a “service-focussed” approach to all staff and customers which is accurate, timely and user friendly
● To undertake any other appropriate duties relating to this position
Essential Requirements
● Qualified to Level 4 AAT Technician
● GCSE qualified Grade A-C in English and Maths.
● Competent in Google applications and Microsoft office particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Also able to navigate Internet and Intranets
● Able to work as part of a wider Team, and be flexible and adaptable when required
● Able to plan and manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
● Excellent organisational skills
● Excellent Time Management Skills
● Excellent Communication skills both written and verbal
● Able to demonstrate personal resilience in order to cope with a range of difficult situations
● Proactive and self-motivated.
● Takes personal responsibility for delivering quality work.
● Identifies opportunities to improve and develop existing practices.
