Role Title: Instructor Demonstrator in Art and Design
Location: Yale
Contract Type: Fixed term (February 2024). Part Time (0.8 FTE, 29.6 hours)
Salary: £22,658 - £26,739 (Pro Rata)
We currently have a vacancy for an Instructor Demonstrator in our Art and Design department at our Yale site.The main purpose of the job is to deliver practical skills training, to supervise and instruct students within the practical aspects of programmes and to undertake routine duties applicable to the area. The instructor demonstrator will also deliver formal scheduled practical instruction and demonstration direct to student groups for which the postholder has responsibility. In conjunction with lecturing staff, the instructor demonstrator will monitor and track progress of practical training in the classroom. There is a specific requirement within this role to undertake routine duties to support the Memorial Art Gallery which serves as a learning resource for Art & Design students, this includes organising and setting up exhibitions in the Gallery to support curriculum needs.
Essential Requirements
Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent in a professionally relevant subject matter
Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching
Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area and ways of keeping up to date with such developments
Recent industrial experience in the relevant specialist area
Demonstrate a good level of IT competence. Must be able to navigate the Internet and Intranets as well as being willing and able to learn how to use new IT packages and systems
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
