Role Title: Lead Support Officer

Location: Coleg Cambria - Yale

Contract Type: Permanent Full Time

Salary: £30,908-£33,705

We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Support Officer to join our IT Department at our Yale campus.

Lead Support officer is responsible for taking a lead role in providing technical support for and to assist in the development, operation and maintenance of the College's IT Services and coordination of the support officer teams.

Essential Requirements
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a computing related discipline
  • Willingness to obtaining industry standard competency based qualifications (e.g. Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA)
  • Have previous experience providing technical support for networked desktop systems with a large user base
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of some or all of the following systems, technologies, protocols and equipment used at the College, which include Windows 10, Windows Server, IIS, Microsoft Office, GSuite and Gmail, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Cisco networking
  • Managing user and group accounts with MS Active Directory.
  • Managing user email accounts with Gmail
  • Setting file permissions in Windows
  • Fault finding and diagnosis of desktop system and network related hardware problems
  • Diagnosing TCP/IP related connectivity problems
  • Hardware and systems installation
  • Routine backup of data
  • Inventory and stock control
  • Competent in Google applications and Microsoft office particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Also able to navigate Internet and Intranets,
  • Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of some or all of the following systems, technologies, protocols and equipment used at the College, which include Windows 10, Windows Server, IIS, Microsoft Office, GSuite and Gmail, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Cisco networking
  • Able to work as part of a wider Team, and be flexible and adaptable when required
  • Able to plan and manage their own workload and that of others in the support team, ensuring deadlines are met.
