Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Caerphilly Early Years to employ an additional Childcare Advisor to join our team of experienced and dedicated staff. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of childcare settings to provide advice, support and training to meet both local and regulatory requirements, including Flying Start, Care Inspectorate Wales, ESTYN.

The post holder will have the ability to monitor and manage high levels of quality within childcare settings and assist in developing bespoke action plans, service improvement plans and quality of care reports. We are looking for someone who has a good knowledge of the requirements within the ALNET Act 2019 and can support positive experiences and transitions for children with both additional and emerging needs.

The post holder will be someone who is an effective communicator at many levels in both English and Welsh and who can establish successful working relationships with childcare providers, parents, schools and other professionals. The successful candidate will have specialist knowledge and expertise in language development, in particular Welsh language development, and the provision of language rich environments.

Candidates are required to have:
  • a relevant Level 6 (Degree) qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales, for example, BEd Degree in Early Years.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or Primary School qualified teacher with a specialism in Early Years
  • Recent training / development in the Early Years curriculum including Foundation Phase.
