32.5 hours per week, for 39 weeks of the year (term time only). You will be required to work 8.30 – 3:15 Monday, Tuesday; 8.30-4:30 Wednesday; 8.30 – 3:15 Thursday and Friday.

Rogerstone Primary School has a vacancy for a teaching assistant in the school’s Learning Resource Bases. The post will commence on 01.09.23.

You will provide support for the class teacher, support for pupils, support for the curriculum and support for the school (as per Job Description). Rogerstone Primary has 3 Learning Resource Bases, that have a high level of adult support. The bases are for children with Additional Learning Needs, including ASD, medical, emotional and learning difficulties.

The successful candidate will:

- Have a genuine commitment and enthusiasm for supporting children with Additional Learning Needs

- Have knowledge and experience of specific ASD strategies

- Have confidence and determination

- Be able to build a relationship of mutual respect with the pupils, parents, staff

- Share specialist best practice with other specialist and mainstream settings and outside agencies

- Demonstrate and promote excellence, equality and high expectations for all

- Have excellent organisational and communication skills

Working in the LRBs is challenging, but very rewarding and there is a very close and hardworking team of adults who are always striving to provide the best possible learning experience for the pupils.

The position is offered as follows:

32.5 hours per week, for 39 weeks of the year (term time only). You will be required to work 8.30 – 3:15 Monday, Tuesday; 8.30-4:30 Wednesday; 8.30 – 3:15 Thursday and Friday.
