Temporary Attendance and Wellbeing Officer

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council’s Education and Inclusion Services Directorate is seeking to employ Attendance and Wellbeing Officers to join the Attendance and Wellbeing Service. Two posts have arisen in the Attendance and Wellbeing Service on a temporary basis. The posts are currently funded for the 2023/24 academic year only. A secondment for those already working for the Local Authority will be considered subject to the agreement of the candidates’ current line manager.

The Attendance and Wellbeing Officer will provide support and information to combat poor levels of school attendance; support pupil wellbeing; and support learners and their families to overcome any difficulties and/or barriers preventing access to education. This will be achieved through establishing positive working relationships with colleagues, schools and families.

The role will also help support key statutory duties of the Attendance and Wellbeing Service and therefore will require excellent communication and a proactive attitude as well as the ability to collate and record accurate case notes.
