Pembrokeshire College has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hairdresser/Barber to join our Hair & Beauty Department, assisting learners with their skills and in the smooth running of ‘The Salon' at operates on a commercial basis. Salary Details: Tutor Scale - £22,961 - £27,670 BAR £28,571 - £31,746 pro rata

This scale is on an incremental basis with progression to each point on an annual basis with the opportunity to further progress on to an extended scale following the BAR.
` Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College's starting salaries matrix.
Hours of Work: 15 hours per week (448 annual delivery hours)

Contract Type: Salaried (Permanent)

Holiday Entitlement: 28 days pro rata (increasing to 32 days for 5 years + service) plus 8 Bank Holidays & College closure days per annum

Qualifications:

•You will hold a Level 3 Qualification in Hairdressing or Barbering or equivalent and/or significant relevant industry experience.
• You will hold a recognised Teaching or Training Qualification e.g. Award in Education and Training (AET). If not currently held, you will be required to undertake and achieve the AET qualification during employment.
You will have substantive and recent experience of working within a salon environment as a Hairdresser or Barber. Previous experience of training colleagues or apprentices would be advantageous although not essential as training will be provided on the job.
The Salon is a learning environment which operates on a commercial basis, providing high levels of customer service to internal and external customers. Practical experience and knowledge of 'trends' in industry is essential, with the ability to pass this on through innovative and creative learning experiences. You will have confidence in understanding industry standards and be able to demonstrate a passion for keeping up to date with industry trends.
