2 x School Counsellor

About the role
This is post has arisen due to Ceredigion County Councils restructuring and introduction of a Through age model.

We have now brought the counselling services in-house and as part of that process we are seeking to appoint a qualified school based counsellor to provide a counselling service primarily in a secondary school setting, but also including cluster primary schools from Year 6. In addition, provide a counselling service to school based students on an individual casework basis through a confidential appointments system, drop-in service and on-line counselling as required.

We welcome applications from those who hold a Professional Diploma in Counselling and are accredited/registered with the BACP or UKCP or equivalent to commence immediately subject to interview and D.B.S. check.

You will join the team at an exciting time as we move forward in managing the counselling service in house. We have a friendly, lively and innovative Educational Psychologist and School Based Counselling Team who are committed to assisting the LEA in the achievement of increased inclusion and raising educational standards. Committed to the concept of inclusive education, you will have an understanding of the challenges facing education with increased needs relating to mental health and wellbeing and be a passionate supporter of high expectations and achievement for all pupils.
