About us

St David’s Catholic Sixth Form College is a sixth form exclusively for 16 to 19 year olds based at a single campus, located in the Penylan area of the city. The college caters for around 1,500 full time learners, across level 3 and level 2 courses.

The sixth form college offers learners a choice of around 50 A level courses, level 3 vocational courses, and some level 2 courses. A full list of subjects are available on the St David's College website.

St David's is known for high academic success in a supportive environment. In 2019, 28.3% of students achieved grade ‘A*’ or 'A' at A-Level and 405 students progressed to University - of which 40% went to Russell Group Universities (2020 grades and university statistics were higher).

While academic success remains important, St David's emphasises the importance of developing as a whole person, be that morally, emotionally or spiritually.

The college recruits learners from a wide range of schools across Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan, Caerphilly and Pontypridd, including four Catholic secondary schools. The college welcomes students of all faiths and students of no faiths.
