Skills & Training Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council

Skills and Training, based at Tir Morfa Centre in Sandfields, Port Talbot, delivers a range of work tasters, learning programmes, qualifications and employment opportunity programmes for people from the age of 14 - 65. Delivering services across the Neath Port Talbot, Swansea Bay and have delivered in the Bridgend region, the organisation engages with approximately 200 learners and job seekers at any one time. 

Skills and Training offer Apprenticeship, Foundation Apprenticeships and Jobs Growth Wales Plus programmes in the following occupational areas:

Hairdressing, Barbering, Health and Social Care, Children’s Care, Learning & Development. Work taster placements for non-employed learners are available in most occupational areas, as well as Community and Environmental Projects.

Skills and Training also offer a variety of health and safety, land based ground maintenance qualifications (Qualified Lantra Trainer Tutor), first aid, food hygiene, Construction Site Safety Card (CSCS), CCNSG.  Awarding Bodies worked with include; City & Guilds, IOSH, CITB.

Skills and Training support and work in partnership with local schools, as well as other directorates within NPTC to develop and deliver qualifications and bespoke courses to/for young people at risk of disengaging from education, S&T also link with other Welsh Government and ESF funded programmes such as Communities for Work plus, Youth Services and Working Wales to ensure that we work with employability programmes in NPT for the benefit of our learners.
