Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llwyncelyn

Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Llwyncelyn is a Welsh-medium school in Porth. The school first opened its doors in 1951 to 19 children on the precarious hills of Pontygwaith, Rhondda Fach, after years of campaigning for Welsh education in the Rhondda Val-leys. The school moved location in 1979 to Llwyncelyn and since then has grown from strength to strength, and continues to increase in pupil numbers. We presently have 329 pupils at the school.
