The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and committed Caretaker who will take pride in our school and ensure that the environment is safe, clean, tidy, and attractive for children, staff and families.
The focus of the role is security and maintenance of the building, health & safety, fire safety and statutory compliance. Other duties include undertaking safety audits and risk assessments and ensuring regular health and safety checks are completed e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting and Legionella testing.

We are looking for someone who.
- Has a positive attitude and can build excellent relationships with colleagues and the whole school community.
- Has a sound awareness of health and safety issues.
- Can carry out routine maintenance and basic repairs.
- Reactive Maintenance Activities - including responding to site security and health and safety issues to ensure a safe environment for all.
- Planned Maintenance Activities - carrying out simple system checks including water hygiene and fire.
- Undertake a range of basic DIY repairs - including maintenance, decorating, carpentry, plumbing and glazing.
- Grounds Maintenance - litter picking, leaf clearance and snow clearance and gritting during adverse weather conditions.
- Can maintain accurate and up to date record.
- Security - general building security, locking up and key holder
- Cleaning - emergency cleaning activities, window cleaning and emptying bins.
- Porterage - receiving and delivering goods, room set ups for events and other activities as required by the school.
- Experience of joinery, plumbing, repairs and maintenance would be an advantage, but not essential.
