Family Liaison Officer

Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated person to work directly with the Additional Learning Needs Inclusion Team to support schools, parents and children with the implications of statutory reform in the area of additional learning needs, including in particular, the introduction of Person-Centred Planning, Individual Development Plans and the Child's Right to Appeal.

The appointed Inclusion Family Liaison Officer will work with the ALN Managers and Inclusion Team members to act as a first point of contact between the LA and the family to explain the statutory process to assist in the development of resources and the delivery of training and support for schools and families.

The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh both orally and in writing is essential for this post.

The successful applicant will need to be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales before appointment.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be requested for this post.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively in Welsh. Reasonable support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.
