Full time equivalent salary £29,269 full time equivalent SCP 18 to £32,076 SCP 23 Pro Rata

The Head Teacher, Staff, learners and Governing Body of Mount Pleasant Primary School are seeking to appoint a personable, efficient and effective Administrator/School support officer (SSO). The post is full-time, working 40 weeks per year term time only. The contract will commence at the earliest opportunity, pending pre-employment and safeguarding checks.

We are looking for an exceptional, inspirational, enthusiastic and knowledgeable School Support Officer who is interested in working with a happy and committed community. We require a SSO that is able to provide effective administration and manage allocated staff effectively. To be able to take the lead in organisation with school administration. To support recruitment, induction, appraisal, training and mentoring.

The successful candidate will be expected to manage the administration of the payroll system and take a lead role in budget planning. They will also be expected to oversee health and safety, the school website, communication systems and work effectively with the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

The successful candidate will:

• Be able to take the lead in organisation within school administration
• Undertake appropriate recruitment/ induction/appraisal/training/mentoring, line management of other staff
• Manage the administration of the payroll system
• Take a lead role in supporting the recruitment of appropriate support staff
• Take a lead role in the budget planning
• Take a lead role in managing associated employment procedures
• Oversee Health and Safety and has management responsibility for licences and insurance
• Manage admin/clerical team and estates, caretakers, midday supervisors
• Have NVQ L4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant disciplinary e.g. business admin/finance
• Have experience of working in an office at a senior level, including facilities management and procurement
• Be able to co-ordinate the school website
• Be able to communicate effectively and support the PTA
