Newbridge-on-Wye is a small yet ambitious, successful village School at the heart of its community. Surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Mid Wales the school is able to enjoy the benefits of such a rural location and play a vital part in the local community. The Governing body is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational leader to continue the drive for high standards and lead the school's future development. This role will include classroom teaching responsibilities within the headteacher's leadership and management role, thus allowing the successful applicant to be hands-on with the delivery of the New Curriculum for Wales.

Our school vision is at the heart of everything we do:

To work together to be a successful child-centred school at the heart of our community where learning is exciting, innovative, and imaginative and where minds are inspired to succeed and thrive. We strive to equip children with the skills, Christian values and mindset which will allow them to flourish and reach their full potential, not only in school but in life now and in the future.

We are looking to appoint a leader who:
  • is caring, supportive and works as part of a team
  • has high expectations of pupils and staff and can move the school forward from its very positive current position
  • addresses the diverse needs of all the pupils in the school, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and More Able and Talented (MAT) pupils
  • is proactively supportive of the school's Christian ethos and values
  • has a proven track record as an effective leader, manager and outstanding teacher, who inspires and empowers those around them
  • has a clear vision to further develop the school, and the skills and determination to deliver that vision with the support of staff, parents and governors
  • will lead and motivate pupils, staff and the wider community to create an effective and inclusive culture of life-long learning
  • believes in the benefits of a close partnership between the school and the wider community
  • can work collaboratively and effectively with cluster, regional and national networks
  • is passionate about teaching and learning and shows great commitment to the children and staff.
In return we can offer you:
  • An enthusiastic and committed staff;
  • A supportive Governing Body;
  • Children who are valued, happy and keen to learn;
  • An attractive and pleasant working and learning environment.
