Job description
We are seeking to appoint a temporary Level 1 Teaching Assistant.
The post is for 26.15 hrs per week term time only: Monday - Friday 9am - 3pm: however these hours could be negotiated.
You will need to be suitably qualified with a minimum of GCSE in English and Maths; you need to be committed to your own professional development and be willing to undertake other appropriate training, preferably leading to NVQ 2.
Current experience of working with children with special educational needs would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will work as part of the school team, working under the overall supervision of the class teachers throughout the school.
This role will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to work across all classes within Penmaes.
The teaching assistants will support the class teachers and support the learning and well-being of individual pupils or groups; they may provide appropriate care for those who are personally dependent on adults for their basic needs. This may include meeting their toileting needs with associated moving and handling. The posts require a committed and flexible approach as the wellbeing of all our pupils is highly important.
