About the role
We want to recruit an SDL Level 4 Teaching Assistant to join our Service on a full-time, fixed-term contract (term time only) for a year.
About the role
On a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will work with refugees and learners with English as an Additional Language (EAL) across Ceredigion schools supporting their wellbeing and developing their language skills, so they have full access to the curriculum. They will use their specialist experience and knowledge to successfully support school staff by upskilling and offering them support. The successful candidate will monitor and evaluate learner progress, to include organising and managing appropriate learning resources. They will design bespoke learning and teaching activities to effectively meet the needs of schools and their learners.

- Has full working knowledge of the curriculum of this area, including relevant policies, codes of practice and legislation
- Has sound knowledge and extensive experience in supporting refugees and learners with English as an Additional Language, implementing relevant learning programmes and strategies to support their well-being and develop their language skills
- Understands the statutory frameworks relating to teaching
- Has good understanding of child development and learning processes
- Constantly improves own practice/knowledge through self-evaluation and learning from others
- Use ICT along with specialist equipment and resources effectively to support learning
- Get on well with children and adults
- Works constructively and flexibly as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and their own position within these
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
