The Church in Wales is proud to be a partner in the provision of education in Wales with 145 schools serving communities in every diocese and recognises the need to support schools in the development of their Christian ethos and Religion, Values and Ethics curricular.
We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and engaging candidate into this newly created post. It is an exciting opportunity to work as a key member of the Church in Wales Education team and this role reflects the commitment and heightened profile or our work on Religion, Values and Ethics (RVE) and Christian ethos with our Church schools.
The coordinator will support the Provincial Director of Education in realising the achievement of the Church’s mission and ministry in schools and work to support schools at national level to develop and sustain their Christian distinctiveness.
• Work directly with schools and teachers across the Province
• Ensure Religion Values and Ethics is resourced and meets national expectations in Church in Wales schools.
• Develop and coordinate a programme of professional learning for RVE and coordinate the development of high-quality resources.
• Provide advice to Governing Bodies and Church in Wales SACRVE members regarding RVE.
• Provide support, advice and professional learning for head teachers, staff, governors in the development of schools’ Christian ethos.
• Develop and facilitate RVE and Collective Worship networks throughout the Province.
• Develop consultations and collate responses across a range of Education workstreams.
• Undertake any other duties as required commensurate with the role/grade.
• Maintain accurate and complete records which are suitably stored/shared.
• Maintain own professional development and stay up-to-date on regulatory changes and developments in best practice.
