DescriptionColeg Ceredigion have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in Automotive Engineering to join our busy Motor Vehicle team on a casual basis, based at our Cardigan Campus. This role would work in one of our purpose-built motor vehicle workshops for manufacturing and automotive engineering skills.

Coleg Ceredigion's Cardigan campus is the main base for the Faculty of Skills and Technology and is located near the town centre with easy access to all the local amenities. There is a modern Breakout Space where learners can socialise, relax or re-charge between lessons as well as Y Cantîn, which serves breakfast and lunch. The campus also has a fully staffed Learning Resource and Library Centre as well as specialised areas to support education and training in a number of Curriculum Areas.

About the RoleThe Motor Vehicle workshops on the Cardigan Campus are modern and well equipped, having had significant investment in recent years, with a number of new cars, diagnostic equipment and training rigs to support students and apprentices. The provision ranges from school link 14-19 provision up to and including level three programmes.

The post holder will contribute to the teaching, assessment of L1 -3 programmes.

What you will needTo be successful in the role, you will need:
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Automotive Engineering
  • Relevant Higher academic/Vocational qualification in Automotive Engineering
  • A teaching qualification. (if not already in possession of a teaching qualification, you will be required to obtain a PGCE within 2 years)
  • Relevant experience within the motor vehicle industry
Whilst it is not essential, experience of hybrid and electric cars would be advantageous, however, training will be provided for this if you do not already have experience.
