ASD - Resource Base Lead Teacher

The pupils, staff and Governors of Sofrydd Primary School are looking for an inspirational, forward-thinking practitioner to lead our newly established Autism Spectrum Disorder Resource Base and the team supporting the development of the ASD resource base curriculum and inclusive provision.

The successful applicant will have an up to date knowledge and understanding of curriculum reform, the Additional Learning Needs Act and ALN Code of Practice in Wales.

We are looking for a practitioner who
  • Demonstrates excellent, creative classroom practice with high expectations of children's attainment and behaviour for all learners in the Learning Resource Base;
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide a curriculum for learners with ASD;
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills to inspire, lead, organise and motivate;
  • Has the ability to maintain and build partnerships with pupils, parents, staff, Governors and the local community;
  • Is a caring practitioner who truly places the wellbeing of all children at the heart of their practice;

Shortlisted candidates will be required to be observed teaching a lesson prior to the interview in their own school.
