Job Description

Grade 5 - £24,294 for 35 hours per week for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £20,186.44 pro rata.

Haverfordwest High VC School is seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor on a fixed term basis for 12 months. The successful candidates would join us in working in an environment which promotes excellence, inclusion and high expectations.

As a Cover Supervisor your role will include covering registration and lessons in the absence of teachers. You will ensure pupils are engaged in pre-set work, manage pupil behaviour and ensure the quality of learning experience for pupils within the class. You should be able to respond to pupil questions and know where to direct them to gain extra help.

You will be required to cover a range of subjects and be able to think on your feet and adapt quickly to the work provided. You will also need to be able to show authority in the classroom and manage student behaviour using the school policy. It will be important to be able to maintain a level of calm and have excellent communication skills with the pupils. It is also essential that you have good organisational skills, be able to multi task and act as a role model for pupils. The post holder will also have opportunities to assist in school trips and other curricular and extra-curricular activities.

A good standard of education, an understanding of children/young peoples' needs and rights, together with experience of working with children are essential for this role.
