Educational Psychologist

Pembrokeshire County Council
Job Description

Educational Psychologist

Salary (£44,474 - £54,609) Soulbury A Scale 2-7 Plus 3 SPA

(Pembrokeshire County Council will honour a starting salary at Scale 3)

We seek to appoint a permanent full-time Educational Psychologist post to commence in September 2024.

Pembrokeshire is one of Britain's special places, combining some of the most spectacular coastal scenery with a unique cultural heritage. Nearly a third of the county is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park - the only coastal national park in the country and its numerous beaches are renowned as being amongst the finest anywhere. This all makes it a particularly attractive and satisfying area in which to live and work.

The Pembrokeshire Educational Psychology team is concerned with the development, learning, achievement and wellbeing of children and young people. Members of the team work with young people, staff of pre-school settings and schools, and with parents/carers and professional colleagues to try to bring about positive change for children and young people.

We are part of the Inclusion Service working closely with advisory teachers, behaviour support, ASD outreach, the children's disabilities team and colleagues from social care and health to improve outcomes for children and young people across Pembrokeshire.

We would welcome expressions of interest from experienced Educational Psychologists as well as those about to complete their training who are currently in Year 2 or Year 3 of the DEdPsy (Doctorate) programme (the start date for a successful Year 2 applicant will be September 2025). There is also flexibility to accommodate those interested in part-time work. We are happy to discuss any specialisms that you are interested in.

For an informal discussion please contact Dr Lorraine Silver (Principal Educational Psychologist) on 01437 776042 lorraine.silver@pembrokeshire.gov.uk

All applicants must be professionally qualified and HCPC registered.
