Job description
We are recruiting a Childcare Advisor at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 daily Monday - Friday)
Contract Type: Full Time/ Fixed Term until 31 st March 2025
Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Early Years service Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £36,648 - £39,186 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Caerphilly County Councils Early Years Service for an additional Childcare Advisor to join our team of experienced and dedicated staff. The successful candidate will manage a caseload of childcare settings to provide advice, support, and training to meet both local and regulatory requirements, including Flying Start, Care Inspectorate Wales and ESTYN. The post holder will have the ability to monitor and manage high levels of quality within childcare settings and assist in developing bespoke action plans, service improvement plans and quality of care reports. We are looking for someone who has a good knowledge of the requirements within the ALNET Act 2019 and can support positive experiences and transitions for children with both additional and emerging needs.

The post holder will be someone who is an effective communicator at many levels and who can establish successful working relationships with childcare providers, parents, schools and other professionals. The successful candidate will have specialist knowledge and expertise in language development and the provision of language rich environments. We are particularly interested in candidates who have had recent training / development in the Curriculum for Wales for Non-Maintained Settings.

Candidates are required to have:
  • Relevant Level 6 (Degree) qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example BEd Degree in Early Years
  • Qualified Teacher Status or Primary School qualified teacher with a specialism in Early Years
  • Thorough knowledge of legislation, guidance and standards relating to Early Years provision including Foundation Phase curriculum
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit childcare settings and attend meetings
