Grade 7 - £29,777 for 37 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to £26,156.24 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, £29,641.80 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.

Pembrokeshire County Council have an exciting opportunity to join the Education Welfare Service, working as an Education Welfare Officer, working on a term-time only basis.

The post holder will join a well-regarded and high performing team, working directly with children and young people who are not regularly attending school, supporting them to reach their potential, securing successful outcomes and future pathways.

As the Education Welfare Officer you would be responsible for encouraging and facilitating contact between home and school, and attending and chairing multi-agency meetings to provide advice and guidance on support services to families. There will be a particular focus on the Traveller community within this role.

This role requires strong relationships to be built with families to ensure adequate support is provided. There will be times when the EWO will issue warning letters and instigate legal proceedings when required.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and committed to supporting positive, solution focused outcomes for children and young people.

The role involves liaising with professionals to ensure children and young people are adequately safeguarded, learning and enjoying their time at school.

To carry out the role you will need high levels of communication and organisational skills as you will need to prioritise and work independently. You will also need emotional resilience for this role, and be committed to Pembrokeshire County Council's values.

We are offering agile working arrangements with a base in County Hall, Haverfordwest or a secondary school in Pembrokeshire.

For an informal discussion please contact Kelly Hamid - Education Welfare Service Manager on 01437 774658 or Kelly.Hamid@pembrokeshire.gov.uk
