Tondu Primary School serves the village of Aberkenfig and the surrounding area north of Bridgend. There are currently 192 pupils on roll aged from 3 to 11 years taught across eight classes. It is located on two sites, which means that the Nursery and Reception classes are accommodated about a quarter of a mile away from the rest of the school. However, we work hard to make sure that all children, staff and families feel very much part of our Tondu Family. We are passionate about promoting and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils and staff and this ethos is at the heart of everything we do.
Tondu provides exciting and meaningful learning. The school benefits from excellent outdoor learning environments and works in partnership with pupils, staff, parents and governors due to the strong links with the wider community. Providing an environment in which staff and pupils are supported in achieving their full potential.
The Governing Body are seeking a Headteacher who is innovative, highly motivated and compassionate with a drive to continue our school improvement journey.
Tondu is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
As an experienced Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, school leader or education professional you will have management experience with proven leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Applicants applying for their first Headteacher appointment must hold the NPQH.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
