We are recruiting a Lead Youth Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time/ Term Time Only (39 Weeks)
Location: Rhymney Education Centre

Caerphilly County Borough Council has a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Youth Worker as part of our Innovate Project. The project is an EOTAS(Educat i on Other Than At School) provision that focuses on emotional health, wellbeing and personal development where we provide intense support to vulnerable and challenging young people who may be disengaged, or at risk of disengagement from Education.

The post holder will connect with young people to meet their specific needs for whatever reason they cannot attend mainstream school, to re- engage or maintain their engagement ad inclusion with Education.

Supporting the young person to set and achieve realistic targets, with the aim of ensuring they
re-connect with sustained education, training, or employment.

For the role, we ask that you have:
  • Relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example Youth and Community Work, Community Development, Criminal Justice, Early Years, Education, Teaching, Social Work
  • A willingness to achieve a Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales in Youth and Community Work and EWC registration within a timeframe to be agreed with your line manager following appointment
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work Full UK Category D1(Minibuses) driving licence to drive a Council vehicle.
