Senior Childcare Worker - Flying Start

Senior Childcare Worker - Flying Start

Bridgend County Borough Council
Senior Childcare Worker - Flying Start
Job description
37 hours a week

Up until March 2025
Term Time Only

Are you an experienced Early Years professional, passionate about securing the very best outcomes for young children?

This could be the role for you!

We wish to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and pro-active professional, with successful experience of securing excellent outcomes for children in their early years, to join our diverse and friendly team and to take on the leadership of one of our new Flying Start settings.

As a senior childcare worker within our Flying Start family, you will lead a small staff team to achieve provision, practice and care of the highest quality. You will be supported in your role by one of our Flying Start Childcare Co-ordinators and our Early Years advisory team. An outstanding early years practitioner yourself, you will offer strong leadership that inspires the best in others, each and every day.

The setting will operate as English-medium in the mornings and will be working towards delivering the afternoon sessions through the medium of Welsh. Therefore, candidates must already be Welsh-speaking or be prepared to engage with an intensive programme of learning, supported by our partners in Mudiad Meithrin.

If you believe as strongly as we do in the importance of the Early Years and you are excited by this challenge, we want to hear from you. A discussion with our Flying Start Childcare Team Leader, Lucy Davies, is warmly encouraged and easily arranged. Please contact lucy.davies@bridgend.gov.uk to ask any questions you have or to organise an appointment for an informal conversation.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

Criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.

A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.

Closing Date: 08 May 2024
