Job Description

The Governors of Ysgol Ger y Llan are seeking to appoint a full time Assistant Headteacher.

W e are a happy and welcoming school whose heart is in the community. Our school is a Welsh medium Church in Wales VC school situated in the village of Letterston.

This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational individual who has the commitment, drive and passion to have an impact on the whole school.

You will significantly contribute to our Leadership Team, who are committed to ensuring the best outcomes for our children, through taking responsibility for agreed areas of school improvement. In addition, you will take a leading role in school development and be involved in the day to day management of the school. We would be particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience and a genuine enthusiasm for Welsh as this is a key priority for us.

This role will include:

  • a key role in leading the quality of teaching and learning and curriculum development
  • involvement in the daily operational management of the school including pupil and staff well-being and engagement with parents
  • teaching responsibility
  • dedicated leadership time

We need someone who:

  • is an inspirational teacher
  • is committed to working with families to ensure every child is happy, confident, creative and curious
  • has the proven ability to motivate, inspire and support colleagues
  • is creative, outward-looking and positive
