Job description
We are recruiting an Early Years Support Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Fixed Term/Full Time
Location: Various Locations across the borough

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider early years team.

We pay an attractive salary of £24,294 - £25,979 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The Caerphilly Early Years and Childcare Service is recruiting an Early Years worker who may wish to gain experience working in a family support environment.

The worker will be trained to deliver our family support interventions in the community and virtually. The support focusses on child development and early language skills. Support is available to families from antenatal and focuses on What Matters to the family. All interventions are for children aged 0-7 years aiming to help parents, help their child's development and support family resilience.

While the post is based in either Parc Y Felin ICC, Gelligaer Community Centre or Cherry Tree House, the successful applicant will be expected to work in an agile way across the borough in homes and community venues, as well as some working from home. This post is part of a wider Early Years and Childcare Team, and partnership working is essential.

The successful applicant will be expected to learn basic conversational Welsh and will have experience of working with families and children. The successful person will have a relevant level 2 qualification and will be willing to undertake training to be able to deliver a range of child development programmes.

The post is primarily funded under Flying Start and as such are fixed term due to the terms and conditions of the grant until March 31st 2025.

For the role, we ask that you have:
  • Relevant Level 2 on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example Children's Care, Play, Learning and Development (CCPLD), Health and Social Care.
  • Experience of working within the community supporting the delivery of community groups / provision.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings / visit clients at their home.
