Job description
We are recruiting 2 Community Centre Caretakers at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: One role is on a part time basis at a minimum of 10 hours per week and is a Fixed Term Contract for 12-months.

The other is Relief Caretaker/ Cleaner, again on a part time basis to cover absence.

Location: Tirphil Community Centre

This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Sports and Leisure Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £12 Per Hour, Real Living wage and offer access to training and development opportunities.

Here both roles will see the successful candidates carrying out the role of caretaker / cleaner at the site both covering evening and particularly weekend work including late night lock ups. It will be essential that the post holders are available to access the community centre quickly and if necessary, several times per day.

The positions will require a good knowledge and experience of, health and safety, safe cleaning methods and the use of mechanical cleaning appliances. The jobs entail significant manual handling in preparing the venue for use by user groups and in post training can be provided where necessary.

Although employed by Caerphilly County Borough Council, the post holders will be required to work closely with the voluntary management committee which manages the day to day running of the centre.

For the role, we ask that you have:
  • Awareness of the importance of health and safety requirements particularly cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
  • Willingness to undertake job related training.
