An exciting opportunity has arisen at Cardiff and Vale College for a Head of Technology Enhanced Learning. Reporting to the Assistant Principal, the role will be responsible for supporting the College to meet the 2030 Digital Standards, working to transform teaching and learning and the learner journey, helping to create skilled and employable people by leading the Digital Transformation and Success Centre department. Specifically the post holder will:
  • Identify and analyse Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) needs, develop innovative eLearning solutions, including curriculum integration and delivery designs, and facilitate their effective use for teaching and learning.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Success Centre (Library) teams based across five campuses ensuring high quality learner experience is provided.
  • Support the planning and delivery of high-quality TEL training for staff.
  • Support the development of digital skills for learners in line with the Digital 2030 Standards.
  • Establish and develop eLearning materials for commercial and curriculum use, working with supplier partners if required to look at possible improvements, and costing and scoping these projects accordingly.
The successful candidate must be educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally with a PGCE or Certificate in Education. They must also have management experience, ideally within an educational setting and a proven track record of producing creative learning solutions using a combination of software packages including Office 365. The successful candidate must also have strong project management skills and a good understanding of external pressures and opportunities within an e-Learning context.
