The Governors of St Patrick’s RC Primary School are looking to appoint a Midday Supervisor on a fixed term contract for one year, starting on 03.06.24.

The post is temporary, based on 38 weeks, working 5 hrs per week.

MDS Grade 1, SCP 2 - 3 £22,366 - £22,737 pro rata, hourly rate £11.59 a hour

Part time – term time only

The closing date for all applications is Sunday 19th May.

Shortlisting will take place on Monday 20th May and interviews will be held the week beginning 3rd June.

Job Description

• Assist in preparing children to be ready for their lunch, whether provided by school or from home and supervise them whilst they are in the toilets
• Assist with the feeding of pupils if required
• Encourage good manners and behaviour in the dining room and help children use the correct cutlery
• Deal with spillages or accidents immediately and mark with a bollard if necessary
• Be aware of health and safety requirements and use appropriate materials for cleaning up accidents/sickness
• Supervise the safe passage of children from one area to another
• Supervise the children on the playground or indoors, depending on the weather conditions and having regard to their safety at all times
• Record all accidents on the record sheets
• Liaise effectively with all staff, teaching and non-teaching
• Have a calm, respectful and positive manner with the children
• Manage children’s behaviour and deal with any incidents that occur
• Encourage and participate in play activities with our children
• Be able to administer first aid when necessary with minor injuries
• Be prepared to participate in development and training opportunities
• To maintain confidentiality
