Teacher of Mathematics - Milford Haven School

Teacher of Mathematics - Milford Haven School

Pembrokeshire County Council
Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a 0.7 specialist Teacher of Maths to work in a successful Maths and Numeracy AOLE from 1st September 2024.

The successful applicant will have expertise in teaching Maths and Numeracy at key stage 3 and 4 and be dedicated to the development and promotion of the subject area across the whole school community. There is flexibility in the role, allowing for a Key Stage 3 timetable only, so we would welcome applications from primary trained teachers as well as secondary teachers. The ability to deliver ICT/Digital Technology to years 7 and 8 would be desirable, although not essential. Although the post is advertised as 0.7 FTE, there is flexibility to increase this due to curriculum need based on the successful candidate's preference.

The successful candidate will show an enthusiasm and dedication for planning, delivering and assessing high quality learning and teaching. They will be willing to participate in whole school initiatives to raise the profile of the subject. The successful applicant needs to be confident in working on their own, using their initiative, as well as contributing to the AOLE as a whole.

We work hard to help grow caring, thoughtful and passionate pupils who are proud of themselves and the community they live in. We are so very pleased that ESTYN recognised this in their report, commenting specifically on, "The sense of a close and supportive community and team ethos are strong aspects of life at Milford Haven School," this is all thanks to the incredible hard work of our pupils, staff and wider school family.

Milford Haven is beautifully situated on the Pembrokeshire coast in an area where the quality of life is second to none. If you are an imaginative and energetic practitioner and want to make a difference to the life-chances of all groups of learners in your care, then this could be the post for you. Milford Haven School is on an upwards improvement journey and a successful candidate will continue this important work.
