Role Title: IT Developer

Location: Yale

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £ 46,168 - £49,907

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced IT Developer to join our IT Department at Yale. The IT Developer is a vital member of the Information Technology Team.

This role primarily focuses on being the lead role in the development and delivery of applications and scripting solutions to meet the diverse needs of the college. The role will facilitate the integration and movement of data between different systems using appropriate scripting and database resources. The post will also contribute to the planning, implementing, managing and supporting of new and existing systems provided by third party suppliers. Additionally they will work with various departments to develop innovative scripting, automation and integration of multiple systems to improve or create new processes that bring improvements in functionality and efficiency, as part of the college's commitment to digital transformation.

Essential Requirements
  • To prioritise own workload and use the developer helpdesk to respond to support queries from staff and students
  • To develop and monitor the transfer of data between both internal College systems and external platforms, via secure and robust methods
  • To undertake systems development utilising programming and development skills in Powershell and .Net to support efficient, secure and accurate data processes
  • To produce comprehensive documentation of all systems specification and development undertaken and develop appropriate material to support and contribute to staff training for designated systems
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of training material and work instructions for applications and systems created under this role
  • To contribute to the work of the College's management team in order to fulfil the College's strategic aims

Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
